Awake early to be the first to grab the first batch of coffee and muffins, and pay daily for parking its way cheaper. Don't forget your sunhats, sunblock, or sunscreen believe me you will enjoy yourself at Miami Beach.
-
Beautiful wonderful place to relax, meet people, and have a pleasant vacation. Be sure to visit South Beach..there are cool art galleries there and so many things to see and enjoy. OH AND--there are parking meters all over the entire island..even if you are staying in a hotel, YOU MUST PAY FOR PARKING! it's about 7 dollars a day. Also, there are many bums on the streets. I was surprised by this.

Don't restrict yourself to Ocean Drive. Do visit the restored Espanola Way, a "historic Spanish district" that has a nice weekend street market. And the restaurant Yuca on Lincoln Road Mall is excellent.
-
Don't stay at the Royal South Beach, they are a huge rip off. The website is miss-leading
-
Lots to see and do. Check out homes of the rich and famous, go to the Everglades etc..Great city. Wish we could have had more time there.
-
Beach area (Art Deco district) is a MUST visit area. Great dining along sea front promenade. However, avoid driving downtown during commuting hours!!!
-
Don't miss the walking tour of the Art Deco area. It's great for getting your bearings and very interesting. Leaves from the Art Deco centre.
-
Bring plenty of expendable funds. The experiences you can and may encounter are well worth the expense.
-
Use the bus system to get around as it is quick, easy and very reasonable, there are excellent places to eat at, and the variety of food available no one should go hungry, beaches are brilliant and I would advise all to go to Miami at least once, downtown is like any other city busy bustling but a must see. Visit the information centre and get tips an money off booklets or even a free pas to one of the museums,
