Bus

Unless you are using the bus to travel close distances, avoid it. It is complicated and not always user friendly. Also Miami traffic does not always guarantee it is going to be the quickest way of getting around. Be sure to ask the bus driver if he/she is going to your destination before boarding. Route numbers and names are clearly displayed on the front and side of the bus. Fare is $1.50 and change is not provided, so make sure to have the exact amount.

If you are staying on Miami Beach and wish to visit Downtown for the day, buses make a pretty direct trip over the causeways. Try to make sure to catch one that leaves you near a Metromover station, perferably Government Center, because it will allow for easy access to the rest of the area. It is not recommended you take the bus at night as some stops can be found in unfavorable parts of the city.
