The velvet ropes in Miami are notoriously difficult to get through. Everyone wants to see what's on the other side but the doorman is thinking otherwise. Yes, this is a very common scene in Miami's nightlife, however, don't fret, there is something for everyone who visits the Magic City. You don't need to be a celebrity or throw down enormous amounts of cash to have a good time.
For the most part, there are four nightlife districts: South Beach, which can be split into Washington Avenue and everything else; Park West in Downtown Miami; the Miami Design District; Media & Entertainment District; and Coconut Grove. Each comes with its own reputation, and they are very different from each other.
If rubbing elbows with Miami's elite and celebrities interests you, South Beach is your answer. For serious nightlife enthusiast who want to party until the sunrises, Park West is a must. For a taste of what locals love to do, check out Coconut Grove. While the Media & Entertainment and Miami Design Districts offer endless array of bars and clubs set in the city's urban wasteland.
