Pastel design era of the 1920s is well celebrated at the Miami Art Deco Festival. This event, conceived by Miami Design Preservation League, salutes Miami's Art Deco era from 1925 to 1945. Historic preservation is the major concern of the MDPL, a non-profit organization and the oldest Art Deco society in the world.
Listen to jazz tunes from the 1920s and 30s, watch movies, street performances and get an up-close look at the vintage cars from the Art Deco era during the parade. You can also take join in on walking tours and lectures. The street vendors display art inspired by the era, and you can also buy beach buckets with an Art Deco theme. At the auction, you can find antique pieces, sold as collectables picked up from renovations. Learn more about the area's amazing architecture during this fun-filled weekend.
