Most Miami art galleries are located in the Wynwood Art District, but some can also be found in Coral Gables, Miami Beach and the North Miami Art District. Don't let Wynwood's industrial warehouse facade fool you; the galleries here pack a punch. Some of the best up and coming contemporary artists both local, national and foreign choose to display their work here. During Art Basel Miami Beach, may of the unused warehouse are converted into guerilla galleries hoping to attract lucrative art collectors.

You don't have to purchase anything to visit the galleries, but be aware some are by appointment only. The second Saturday of every month, the galleries in Wynwood and the nearby Miami Design District open their doors to the public from 7 to 10 p.m. Admission is free and complimentary drinks and snacks are usually served.
