Key Biscayne
For a town that tries to keep to itself, Key Biscayne is very popular amongst tourist and locals alike. Sony Ericsson Open, Crandon Park, Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park and numerous resorts can be found on the island right off the coast of Miami.

Although south of Miami Beach, the only way to get to Key Biscayne from the mainland is through Rickenbacker Causeway - well that's of course if you don't own a boat. This sleepy community moves at a different pace that it is obvious you aren't in Miami anymore. Expansive beaches and turquoise blue waters add to the beauty of the area.

Stop by the Rusty Pelican, 3201 Rickenbacker Causeway (305-361-3818), where while you dine you can enjoy spectacular views of Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline. Bacus Restaurant & Bar, 260 Crandon Blvd. (305-361-8916) is a five-star Italian eatery that offers a reinvented Italian fare.

With the Sonesta's on-going renovations, rooms on Key Biscayne are scarce. The only major resort currently is The Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne. This 5 star hotel is sprawled over a 12-acre oceanfront property. It features everything you come to expect from the Ritz-Carlton brand, a great spa, superb recreational facilities, and spacious and luxurious guestrooms.
