Eclectically cool, the Century Hotel was designed in 1939 by Henry Hohauser, the legendary art deco architect, and was spotlighted by Travel Magazine as one of 25 Stylish Hotels Under $200. This historical hotel has recently been renovated to twenty-first century standards, and offers guests modern comforts such as in-room air conditioning, free daily newspapers, in-room safes, and mini-bars with snacks. Located off the hotel's lobby, the acclaimed La Joia Restaurant is beloved by travelers, locals, and celebrities alike for its authentic Italian cuisine. The restaurant's infamy has even earned it the moniker, "the apex of Ocean Drive." Century Hotel rests on the pulse of South Beach, just one block from Ocean Drive and its many amusements. Business travelers appreciate the hotel's close proximity to the Miami Beach Convention Center, located less than half a mile away. Other nearby attractions include the Port of Miami, three miles from the hotel, and Pro Player Stadium, a quick 20-minute drive away. Leisure travelers will kick up their heels at the overwhelming array of boutiques, galleries, and other shops all found within blocks of the hotel's doorstep. And for guests who tire of business meetings or power shopping, there's always the beach. The rooms are very tiny. I booked a deluxe room with two double beds, that filled up the room. The bedding was high end and very comfortable. The bathroom had a great shower. Quiet end of street.
