Right in the midst of Miami Beach's Art Deco District, the Beach Paradise Hotel features Spanish-inspired architecture, ocean views, dark wood furnishings, and marble floors. Built by the architect William Francis Brown, the hotel has offered elegant and charming seaside accommodations since 1929 right on the corner of Ocean Drive and 6th Street. Our initial disappointment -- the decor is very plain; not even pictures on the walls -- was balanced by the pleasant and helpful staff and the level of service. The location was also good: far enough south on Ocean Drive to avoid much of the hustle and noise that can be South Beach.
