Fort Lauderdale is enjoying another renaissance. It has been a long time since the original hay day of this great city. Fort Lauderdale used to be the epicenter of spring break and the number one party town for young and old. Some of the old favorites on Fort Lauderdale beach, like The Elbowroom share real estate with new popular haunts like Lulu’s Bait Shack bar and grill. New restaurants, bars and shopping establishments have done well in the Himmarshee district, along Las Olas and Fort Lauderdale beach over the last few years. Fort Lauderdale is quietly reinventing itself as a hot travel destination once again.
The Himmarshee is a bar district that mostly caters to a younger crowd. Here you can find anything from dive bars to dance clubs and anything in-between. On weekend nights the streets of the Himarshee district are alive with an upbeet crowd. The Las Olas Boulevard area is a more upscale dining and drinking experience. The street is peppered with shopping, restaurants and bars and will take you to Fort Lauderdale beach. A1A is a mix of the two areas, combined with a beach setting.
The beach has not changed. Fort Lauderdale is still one of the greatest beaches in the United States. Between the beaches, great food, lively nightlife and interesting people Fort Lauderdale is a great spot to plan your next vacation.
